Bob Jones Trail

The Bob Jones trail is a three mile, well-paved bike and walking trail. Beginning on Ontario Road which parallels Highway 101 lies the trailhead for the Bob Jones City to Sea Bike Trail. 

The Bob Jones Trail wanders next to San Luis Obispo Creek, right behind the Avila Valley Barn fields. You can enjoy walking by the fields and depending on the time of year, you might just catch the the sounds of frogs and flowing water. Hard to believe it's so close to the beach!

Cycling Avila Beach

A bike is the easiest way to visit the local attractions including the Avila Bay Pier, Port San Luis, wine tasting and a fun ride on the Bob Jones trail out of Avila. From the trailhead, you can ride south into Shell Beach and Pismo Beach to enjoy spectacular views of the coast and the many small coastal parks. There are fantastic restaurants and watering holes along the way. An extended ride will take you from Pismo Beach out to the Edna Valley for a scenic ride along the vineyards and many wine tasting choices.

Avila Beach Golf Resort

The Avila Beach Golf Resort is a wholly-unique golf experience. Designed by Olin Dutra and Desmond Muirhead and opened for play in 1969, it is nestled in the surrounding hills of Pismo Beach and on the edge of the bay. The resort includes a par 71, 6500-yard championship course, beautiful grounds and a neighborhood bar that also serves tasty sandwiches and small bites.

Point San Luis Lighthouse

Experience the rich history of the beautifully restored Point San Luis Lighthouse and glimpse into the lives of Lighthouse Keepers and their families while helping keep our jewel of the Central Coast preserved and protected.
